😀 The Power of Encouragement
If you read nothing else in this week’s edition, read this. This is such a great reminder of the power of our words. I was reminded reading this article that sometimes an encourager is one who just sees things from a different perspective. Sooo good!
📱 7 Things You Didn't Know Siri Could Do on Your iPhone
Tell me the weather. Sure.
Tell me what the date is. Sure.
Tell me where I parked my car? No problem?
This article has some great tips I didn’t know about, including Siri telling you where you parked your car, and translating words with just your voice.
(I know - I can feel the eye rolls from Android users among us… maybe next week I’ll include a helpful Android tip. Orrrr one of you could send me one to include!)
🔃 9 Radical Time-Management Experiments
Some of these tips I’ve heard before. However, a few of them have me intrigued. “Turning off notifications forever”, not sure that I could get there but I am quite interested in the idea of setting timers.
Cirillo advocated for 25-minute bursts of timed work but Haselberger notes that you don’t have to be locked into 25 minutes if that time isn’t right for you or the task.
Recent research confirms that our brains need breaks between tasks/meetings. I have been experimenting with the 25/50 meeting format and will say it definitely takes some getting used to. It also bears mentioning that in the spirit of adjusting times/lengths of meetings, there is a good argument that states you are eliminating the time for pleasantries, and you have to jump right into business.
Whatever you decide, for all of our sakes, please don’t end a meeting by saying, “Well, I’m giving you ___ minutes back” (groan) 😂
📽️Network like Inigo
Back when I was 9 years old, I watched the classic film, “The Princess Bride” (I shared Fred Savage’s reservations about it being “a kissing book”).
Well little did I know that I was learning the secrets of networking 101 😂
🤖ChatGPT Plus
I wrote about ChatGPT in our first issue. No surprise here, but they just announced a subscription model priced at $20/month with expanded features.
Also this week, Microsoft launched Teams premium powered by ChatGPT priced at $7/month. With ChatGPT, Teams users can now generate automatic meeting notes, AI-recommended tasks, personalized meeting templates, and a lot more! 🤯
