š¤¦āāļø What Not to Do When Youāre Trying to Motivate Your Team
Are you familiar with the concept of āguilt gratitudeā? Before reading this article, I sure wasnāt. Thereās some very practical wisdom here, but it also provides solutions by providing ideas on how to motivate your team.
1ļøā£ The One-in-a-Row Principle
Some great thoughts here on the thoughts of becoming an overnight success vs doing the work day in, and day out:
"Any success takes one in a row. Do one thing well, then another. Once, then once more. Over and over until the end, then itās one in a row again."
It motivates me and reminds me of a quote I heard somewhere along the way, ālittle things turn into big thingsā (which can be both positive and negative). The article above reminds us that the little things we do every day, compounded over time, effect the trajectory of our lives, and the lives of those in our circle.
š©āāļø Ted Talk: An ER doctor on triaging your "crazy busy" life
This video is a fantastic way to spend 11 minutes (2.7 million views!)
ER doctor Darria Long shares a straightforward framework to help you take back control and feel less overwhelmed when life starts to get "crazy busy." I quite enjoyed the video and will be thinking about my āred tasksā vs āgreen tasksā.
š Spotify Playlist: The Truman Show soundtrack
Iāve really been digging this soundtrack lately when I need to put the blinders on and focus (something I wrote about last week). I canāt focus when I listen to music with lyrics, so this fits the bill nicely. The cinematic feel is also encouraging. Itās also a nice change from the other playlist I enjoy while working, āLofi Workā.
š¬ Vitamin C under a microscope?
I can safely say Iāve never seen what Vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, or acetaminophen looks like under a microscope. Now that Iāve seen these photographerās pictures, Iām glad I have!
Words to wrap up:
