š°How Much Should You Tip?
Have you ever had the thought, āHow much is a reasonable tip for _______?ā You and me both! I feel like in the last 2-3 years, the lines have been blurred as to how much one should tip and in what businesses, etc.
Here are some great infographics that describe what you should tip in a variety of places (restaurants, hotels, Uber, etc). I also appreciate that the graphics not only include the US, but around the world. Fascinating (and great design, as well!)
šChatGPT News
I know, I know. I wrote about AI for the last several weeks. Itās hard not to though when thereās so much news coming out of the AI space.
I recently had a conversation with some friends in which we were commenting about how ChatGPTās knowledge is limited to September 2021. The conversation we had was, āimagine if ChatGPT was plugged into the internet, in real timeā.
Well, friends, that day is almost upon us.
Announced this week, ChatGPT is unrolling its alpha program to select users that enables "GPT-4 Web Browsing", which gives ChatGPT real-time data access. (There's also a new "Code Interpreter" mode!). So, no more knowledge base cutoff.
Check out this twitter thread if you're curious.
š Book: Project Hail Mary
Other than my wifeās books, I havenāt read a lot of fiction lately. Project Hail Mary was the exception to this. If youāre a fan of The Martian (either the book or the movie), youāll enjoy this read. We started it on a road trip, and then listened to it as we had time. I wonāt spoil it for you, but thereās a large event threatening the Earth and an unexpected hero is being tapped on the shoulder.
You donāt want to miss a thing reading this.
(I could explain that reference, but hey, I said no spoilers!) š
š36 Amazing Lessons from The Positive Summit
I had never heard of The Positive Summit until this year. It is a conference that features ā30+ Leading Experts Sharing Strategies on How to Stay Positive, Overcome Challenges & Make a Greater Differenceā. This post has a great recap and quotes of the talks there.
Words to wrap up:
āIn the pot of boiling water called life we have three choices. We can be like the carrot that turns soft, be like the egg that turns hard, or be like the coffee bean that transforms the water around them.ā
