Welcome to Further Faster Fridays! Our goal is to curate the best content in personal development and leadership to help you go further, faster.
Even though the official start to Summer is a few weeks away, we are finally enjoying nicer temperatures here in Montana (sometimes they are few and far between). I hope your summer plans include time for enjoyment of the things you enjoy doing!
Now, on to the content!
đ 7 graphs that will challenge your intuition
This Twitter thread I came across this week was very interesting. I had a guess what the highest grossing media franchise was, but I was definitely wrong! Also a good graph (among the others) to remind us all of the value of exercise.
đ These 4 things make employees feel their job is the best
Thereâs so much I liked about this article. Seth Godin, author of the just-released new book The Song of Significance: A New Manifesto for Teams, asked 10,000 people in 90 countries to describe the conditions at the best job they ever had. and, not surprising, âI got paid a lotâ was mentioned by fewer than 20% of respondents.
"Surprised myself with what I could accomplish" was one of the leaders of the pack. That resonates with me. How many of us are where we are because someone took a chance and believed in us, or even better - walked with us along the journey! A good reminder for us all to be conscious of those abilities we see in others, to encourage those giftings and give people a chance to surprise themselves.
đźď¸ Adobe Photoshop integrates AI
I may have gone to bed late this week because I was so engrossed with this addition to Adobe Photoshop. Iâve been a Photoshop user for years, and this is quite remarkable. Much like youâll see in the link, I took a picture, lengthened the canvas on either side and did a generative fill on both sides. Amazing results.
Now, full disclaimer, some of the results do look a little hokey and this has a ways to go until Adobe can compete with Midjourney, but this is a huge step forward.
âď¸ Leadership Brutal Truths
A friend of mine once said, âLeadership is the most rewarding thing youâll ever do, and the most difficult thing youâll ever doâ.
This article has some great thoughts about the harder side of leadership, but is also a good reminder of what leaders get to do, and the honor of the position theyâre in. There are definitely hard days, but hopefully we can all remind ourselves why we do what we do.
đ 7 Top Secrets About âThe Beastâ Presidential Limo
Iâm going to guess if thereâs a website about these, they may not be so secret đ
Be that as it may, some intriguing tidbits here. (Thereâs a full fridge of blood??)
