500 Drones and a Wedding Speech
Drone shows are all the rage right now, and YouTuber Arun Maini gave an incredibly heartfelt, emotional speech at his wedding, complete with a light show from 500 drones. I really enjoyed this :)
Top 10 Tips for Achieving Predictable Success
These tips are a great summary for anyone wondering about specific, practical ways to help an organization/team succeed. As the author states:
None of these recommendations are complex, and none of them require any resources (other than patience and perseverance), but they are challenging, and require considerable commitment to implement and maintain.
Again, tons of practical info in here. If you lead a team or organization, I highly recommend giving this a read.
The Right Way Is The Hard Way
I came across this interview from Seinfeld this week, that was very interesting to consider:
You and Larry David wrote Seinfeld together, without a traditional writers’ room, and burnout was one reason you stopped. Was there a more sustainable way to do it? Could McKinsey or someone have helped you find a better model?
Who’s McKinsey?
It’s a consulting firm.
Are they funny?
No.
Then I don’t need them. If you’re efficient, you’re doing it the wrong way. The right way is the hard way. The show was successful because I micromanaged it—every word, every line, every take, every edit, every casting. That’s my way of life.
While I don’t believe that applies all the time (there ARE times when you can work smarter, not harder), I like the idea of being proud of something and knowing every specific detail. It’s an interesting tension to consider.
There Is No Red in This Picture
Have you seen this picture? I didn’t believe it either until I zoomed in on it. 🤯
Words to wrap up
A question to consider:
Are you a better version of yourself today than a year ago? If not, what do you need to change?
