Bending Not Breaking
There are mornings when the world feels heavy,
as if the sun itself is reluctant to rise.
You awaken, and the familiar ache sits beside you—
a silent companion, persistent and very much uninvited.
But let me remind you:
You have made it through every hard day so far.
You have weathered storms you thought would never end,
and found, somehow, that you were stronger than you knew.
Life has taught you that it is a series of seasons,
each with its own weather.
Some days are gentle,
a light breeze and sunshine.
Others are fierce,
winds howling, and rain lashing,
In those moments, remember:
Even the tallest tree in the forest bends with the wind.
Even the river carves its way through stone,
not by force, but by persistence.
You’ll get through this.
Not because the path is easy,
but because you are resilient.
Because you have hope tucked deep inside you,
a quiet ember that refuses to go out.
Let yourself rest when you’re tired.
Let yourself cry when you need to.
But hold onto the truth that tomorrow is unwritten,
and you are still the author.
You’ll get through this.
Not unchanged,
but transformed.
With new strength,
new wisdom,
and a deeper understanding of your own heart.
So breathe.
Step forward, even if it’s just a shuffle.
The sun will rise again,
and you’ll be there to greet it.
Trading "Quiet Quitting" for "Loud Living"
There is so much wisdom in this article. A lot of what the author talks about, I believe, will become the standard in the workplace in the next season. (I was going to put some highlights here, but I couldn’t choose. I loved the whole thing!)
The Decision Advisor
A reader shared this with me this week (thanks, Cindy!). This is a great website where you can input a decision you're currently making, and it guides you through a thoughtful exercise. Good stuff!
The Rise and Fall of Blockbuster
When I was a kid, renting a movie from Blockbuster Video was a rare treat. As I became a teenager, we found ourselves browsing the aisles on the weekends. Now, there’s literally one store left, located in Bend, Oregon (I’m told that they still rent movies there!) Thanks, Leslie, for sending this along!

Both are habits.
