A Simple Message
Let’s be honest — sometimes the work we do is just plain tough. The weight of making decisions, guiding others, not to mention figuring out your own path, can feel overwhelming.
If you’re in a tough season, can I offer a gentle reminder? This is not the end. As I recently heard, “Give yourself the freedom to tell yourself, ‘This is just the middle of the story’.”
I may not know you or the work you do, but if you’re reading this, I have a pretty good idea you’re interested in making yourself and others better. For that, I want to say a sincere “Thank You!” Your work is some of the most important and hardest work you have the honor of doing. If you haven’t heard it recently, I’m sure the people in your life appreciate your work and are thankful for it. Again, thank you! 🙏
This is just the middle of the story. What will you write in your next chapter?
5 Strategies for Leading Someone with Burnout
There are some solid strategies and counsel in this article. More than the usual ‘take some time off’. (I once heard, “If how you spend your time ON is the issue, then time OFF isn’t going to fix it). Good stuff here.
Australia’s ‘Right to Disconnect’ Laws Are Here
This is pretty interesting. Australians now have the right to turn off work notifications (sometimes). August 26th marked the start of a new “right to disconnect” law that aims to restore boundaries between work and life after the pandemic smashed them together. While bosses can still message workers at any time, the employees can no longer be punished for failing to read or respond to the messages outside of work hours.
Til You Can't
This song has been in my workout mix for a while, but I just recently came across the music video (96 million views!). I won’t spoil it, but it’s definitely worth the 3 minutes!
Words to wrap up
