7 Theories to Help You Think
Daniel Kahneman was a well-known psychologist who passed away on March 27, 2024. The following article discusses some of his work, some of which are also present in one of my favorite negotiating books, Never Split the Difference by Chris Voss. I believe I've also come across a couple of these theories on the TV show "Irrational." It's definitely worth a read.
“Start the Clock”
I enjoyed Ryan Holiday's article “You Can’t Succeed in Life Without This Skill.” I’ve been thinking this week about where I need to “Start the Clock.”
ChatGPT-4o Update
OpenAI released their latest version of GPT this week, GPT-4o. The video above goes into a detailed demo. Some pretty cool stuff!
I was goofing around with it last night and turned on the text-to-speech option. I said “Hello, ChatGPT, how are you?” It proceeded to say (and I quote): “Hello! I'm doing well, thanks for asking! How about you? How's everything going with that issue you were researching yesterday? Did you get it figured out?” When I replied that I hadn’t, it replied with specific questions to help me brainstorm!🤯
7 Ways to Upgrade Your Brain
A pretty interesting article that outlines 7 toxic and destructive habits that are destroying your brain.
Words to wrap up
"Do not ask your children to strive for extraordinary lives. Such striving may seem admirable, but it is the way of foolishness. Help them instead to find the wonder and the marvel of an ordinary life. Show them the joy of tasting tomatoes, apples, and pears. Show them how to cry when pets and people die. Show them the infinite pleasure in the touch of a hand. And make the ordinary come alive for them. The extraordinary will take care of itself."
