Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
With the holidays quickly approaching, this will be the last issue for the year.
As we wrap up this remarkable year, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you for joining me on this journey. I had a goal at the top of the year to begin a regular newsletter in which I could pass on some of the great resources surrounding personal development and leadership. Reflecting on this inaugural year, it has been a lot of fun hearing from so many of you how the content has been useful to you.
I made a switch in the middle of the year to, in addition to providing links to great content, to begin publishing original content here in the first section. Hopefully that has been helpful to you as well.
So, all that to say, thank you! Your support and engagement have been the driving force behind each article, and it's been a privilege to share this space with such a passionate and insightful audience. As we all look ahead to a new year, I'm filled with gratitude and excitement for what lies ahead. Thank you for making this first year truly unforgettable!
Feedback for us!
On the note of a new year, would you be willing to help us get better? If you had 2-3 minutes, here is a 4-question survey I would love for you to fill out. Thank you!
10 Principles to Organize Your Life
Earlier this year, I switched my main task management app to todoist. I’ve played around with most all of the apps at one time or another, and I finally landed back with ToDoist. I really like their interface and keyboard shortcuts. Not to mention that the iOS app is very easy to use, plus the integration with Alexa and Siri help me not forget anything while on the go.
ToDoist recently published this article with some great tips (regardless of what task management app you use).
1:1 Meetings Quick Guide
I’ve published quite a bit of content on 1:1’s this year, largely because I believe they are one of the most effective tools in the leader’s toolbox. This article does a great job delineating the purpose of the 1:1 between the manager and employee.
App: SwipeWipe
This has been one of my favorite app finds of the year. I had a little bit of a problem not managing my photos on my phone. SwipeWipe does a great job at helping you go through your photos and with one click you can either keep or remove them. Much easier than the multiple clicks to delete a photo in iOS. The app helped me delete over 3,500 photos.
NOTE: The app is pretty expensive. I ended up doing a free trial, deleting my photos, then cancelling. YMMV.
Words to wrap up:
(very appropriate as we head into the new year)
"We cannot become what we need to be by remaining what we are. We must always challenge ourselves to become the people we want to be."
- John Maxwell
