Now, on to the content!
Snipd - AI Podcast Player
I’ve been a user of snipd for a while. So much so, that I switched my main podcatcher from PocketCasts to Snipd. The thing I’ve enjoyed about snipd is the ability to take ‘snips’ of podcasts in real time, with 1-2 clicks. Snips are portions of the audio that gets transcribed and then sorted into Readwise for me to refer to later (more about Readwise next week).
Well, as cool as that is, snipd debuted their premium service last week - AI summaries for podcasts. At first I was a bit skeptical, but I was pleasantly suprised - Snipd has changed the way I consume podcasts. I’ll now read the summary, and I really want to listen to the whole thing, I have a huge head start. This service is similar to how I use Shortform for books, though Shortform doesn’t use AI.
Anyway, if you are a fan of podcasts, I highly recommend Snipd (Btw, this isn’t a sponsored post, I just enjoy their service)
Tabliss
Also on the tech front, I recently came across this cool browser extension. It converts the standard new tab into something much more interesting to look at (example above). You can also customize with your page with the time, quotes, to-dos, etc. Best of all, it’s free!
I recently came across this great newsletter entitled, “The Weekly Wrap”. I’ve really been enjoying the content. Every Sunday, you can expect highlights from things Meghan (the author) has read, watched, heard, found, or did. If it makes her go, “Ooo! That’s interesting!” it’s going to show up. Sign up for The Weekly Wrap here.
4 Traits of Bad Managers (from former VP of HR at Microsoft)
“Yeahhhh…. it’s not a half day or anything….” 😆
A pretty interesting article on what Chris Williams found through his career at Microsoft. Initially, I was going to write about what then is the answer to these. It’s not enough to point out traits of bad managers, without knowing what the good traits are.
Rather than doing that, I pose that question to you - do you agree with the author? Also, if these are 4 bad traits, then what is the answer to these?
22 Free Resources For Leaders
Rachel Turner has put together a great post with some great resources. Some of them are leadership courses from top schools, others are some great blog posts. Have a look!
Words to wrap up:
