👍 A simple tip for your weekend
I have a very simple tip (and hope, really) for your weekend.
I hope that whatever you do this weekend, that you would take the time to do at least one thing you enjoy - one thing that puts energy back into your tank. Whether that’s spending time outside, inside, with people, by yourself - whatever it is, do something you enjoy this weekend. The simple truth is that if you do that, you’ll make yourself better and in turn, be better for those you lead on Monday.
I took my own advice and took the day off and had a super nice hike this morning. Couldn’t have asked for a better morning.
🔨 Before he was Han Solo or Indiana Jones, Harrison Ford was...
I didn’t know this and was really inspiring to read. A good lesson that what you do today may be preparing you for what you’ll do tomorrow!
📘 Book: 5 Levels of Leadership
I found myself going back to this book this week for some wisdom. I think I’ve read it 3-4 times through but quite simply, it’s one of the best books on leadership out there. Highly recommended!
Words to wrap up:
““When faced with the choice between two things you need that are seemingly at odds, go slowly to figure out how you can have as much of both as possible. There is almost always a good path that you just haven't figured out yet, so look for it until you find it rather than settle for the choice that is then apparent to you.” - Ray Dalio (from the book, Principles)
